A friend of mine just got her first game on to the App Store.
It’s a simple memory game for children. The goal is for the children to learn about the environment and what we can do to keep it clean.

On my way back to Stockholm. My son is sleeping and my fiancee is driving. Will try to push the last changes into the requirements document.
During the weekend I have not been idle. I have actually written a script that aggregates data from the Stockholm OMX market. Thinking about how I could use this to create something fun.
On my way back to my birth city with the family. Have 2-3 hours to kill on this requirement specification for a client.
I’m frustrated with ARKit. It looked great in the beginning. However after almost completing a project partly based on that codebase, I can say that there are a lot to wish for.
First and foremost, the codebase that I fetched wasn’t optimized for new features in iOS. So that required major rewrite of camera stream to enable customized AR-views. But whats worse is the architecture and design. As soon as I make a small change, the whole ARKit display terrible side effects.
The major issue here isn’t ARKit or Open Source projects, but the issue of utilizing Open Source in deadline determined projects. It’s hard to foresee these problems in beforehand.
That said, I still want to give the guys behind ARKit and other Open Source projects a pat on the shoulder. Because the venture in technologies we would’t dare sell to our clients if they didn’t do prove of concept for us.
What is worse then Open Source? Third party, closed libraries. That’s about as worse as it gets. They’re seldom bug free. They’re almost always designed in a way that puts requirements onto your codebase that is bad for your overall architecture. You get the blame, but you can’t do anything about it.
Thats a tough nut to crack!
Can’t say I’m a master. But I finally do understand the concept. It will take some practice to put some efficiency and edge into it.
I have - during all my career and personal ventures in programming, avoided Flash.
It need to understand how to use this tool. I’m not proud of my decision, but I feel that this is a gray area of technology that I’m not fully in control of.
It’s time to do something about it it!
